Case Study 2: Denbighshire Council

Case Study: EV Charge Channel Installation in Rhyl

Denbighshire County Council sought a practical and forward-thinking solution to support electric vehicle adoption in an area where many properties lack off-street parking. Traditional above-ground charging points were not suitable due to pavement safety, visual impact, and accessibility concerns.

A below-ground EV Charge Channel (EVCC) was installed to safely route power from the electricity supply to the kerbside. This discreet solution allows residents to charge their vehicles without trailing cables or adding clutter to the pavement, maintaining clear pedestrian access and preserving the streetscape.

The installation provides a safe, durable, and future-ready charging option that supports the council’s sustainability and decarbonisation objectives, while delivering a user-focused solution for residents in shared public spaces.
